MAY 8th, 2019 - Our new film for Iceland's acclaimed metal giants, Sólstafir, has finally arrived. It has been a very long time coming. Sit back, and enjoy 'Bláfjall'.

FEBRUARY 23rd, 2019 - Our new blackened-doom metal band, Witches Tears, has signed with Wreckless Wreck Chords, and have just released our full-length, debut EP, "Cry of The Banshee"! Listen to the title track here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUgiJl8jBcM), and visit us on Facebook for more info regarding our upcoming headlining shows this Summer! Come out, come out, ye sinners.

NOVEMBER 15th, 2018 - In Philadelphia, PA for the next five days, filming a new production at the FDR Skatepark.

SEPTEMBER 18th, 2018 - We wrapped production on Sólstafir's 'Bláfjall' music video today with a big smash!!

SEPTEMBER 10th, 2018 - Filming the new Sólstafir music video with Flosi Þorgeirsson (HAM, Glerakur), one of Iceland's most prolific and legendary rock musicians.

AUGUST 28th, 2018 - In Iceland for the next three months, working on two big productions: doing a new music video for Sólstafir, and filming all four nights of Skálmöld's performance in Harpa with the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. Here's a shot from the final night!

MARCH 28th, 2018 - As many of you have heard, our dear dog, our unstoppable shrew, Creature, passed away today. In her memory, we've created a charity that raises money for our local, no-kill animal shelter, in the form of Creature Stickers! Every time you put a sticker somewhere, and post a photo using the hashtag #adognamedcreaturespotted, it automatically donates $5 dollars to the animal shelter. So far, Creature has been spotted in nearly 30 countries around the world, and raised almost $700 dollars! Get your Creature stickers here, and help us Spread The Shrew!

MARCH 24th, 2018 - It is our pleasure to present our new short film, "The Great Backyard Skatepark Project". I have been a skateboarder for almost twenty-five years, and having my own skatepark has been a dream of mine since I was little. Eight months, $6,000 dollars, 800 cinderblocks, one 60-foot cement truck parked on our lawn, two hilarious, arguing contractors, and a lot of puzzled neighbors later, I am very excited to say: I FINALLY HAVE ONE!

MARCH 14th, 2018 - Spur of the moment filming mission in NYC today with my favorite Norwegian, Hans Martin. Last time I saw this guy, we were living on a scientific research vessel, chasing Narwhal up the west coast of Greenland for a documentary on whale migration! It's experiences like these that build friendships for life.

OCTOBER 23rd, 2017 - Family time in the studio! It's been a while since we've taken out our Sapphire Ornamental Tarantula - it's one of the rarest, spiders in the world, native to one small forest in India, and nowhere else. Take a moment to check out this extraordinary animal HERE.

OCTOBER 22nd, 2017 - Relearning my taildrops in the backyard. I didn't practice this trick for a year, figuring I'd never lose it - joke's on me. Lesson learned! This great photo was taken by my wife, Andrea.

SEPTEMBER 11th, 2017 - Throwback to filming in Valletta, Malta with Arcadia Productions for National Geographic: I blew a whole paycheck on this handmade purple velvet blazer from a local Maltese designer - it was my first time in Malta, and I had no clued what 1.500 Lira was until much later.. hooboy! I had no idea I'd be getting married in this blazer a few years later, either!

AUGUST 13th, 2017 - From the Don't Panic Films archives, here's a massive slam I took while skating off a highway overpass in Savannah, Georgia, which resulted in a shattered collarbone and me drooling my way through my Steadicam certification course two days later, hopped up on loads of painkillers. Good times!

JULY 28th, 2017 - Broken board blues in Vatnajökull, Southeast Iceland, while filming the "Stellar Tombs" music video with Draconian.

JUNE 15th, 2017 - After a year and a half, the music video for "Lost Without You" by the Singapore-based Newton Circus is finally finished, and it's looking very, VERY nice! Stay tuned for a release date within the next few weeks.

MAY 25th-29th, 2017 - In Halifax, Nova Scotia for the next few weeks, filming a metric Canadian ton of heavy street skating footage for the next full-length edit. We've been working really hard on this one for the past three years, and now, we're aiming for a release in Fall 2018! Very proud of the material so far.. This one will absolutely be worth the wait..

FEBRUARY 14th, 2017 - Hard at work, gathering more bangin' skate footage for the upcoming feature-length edit. Taildrop off a ladder onto some sketchy, makeshift ramps in our backyard. A little snow isn't going to slow us down!

NOVEMBER 6th, 2016 - For the last three months, I've been working every day on building and pouring a massive cement skatepark in our backyard. I've wanted to do something like this since I was ten years old, and as of today, it finally became a reality!

SEPTEMBER 14th, 2016 - Today, we wrapped principal production on an upcoming music video for the Singapore-based band, Newton Circus. Since I happened to have my skateboard with me on set, to celebrate the completion of this project, I bombed down the steepest hill in Hvalfjörður, Southern Iceland. I've wanted to try this for well over five years, and since the final location in the video was just down the road, I figured that today should be the day to finally do it. It's a whole lot steeper than it appears: between dodging cars and tourist busses barreling over a blind hill, you're looking at a blistering-fast, minute and a half ride to the bottom.

AUGUST 23rd, 2016 - We're in Reykjavik, Iceland this month, filming a music video for Newton Circus, a band based out of Singapore. Here's a behind-the-scenes peek at a scene featuring the Icelandic band, Mammút!

APRIL 17th, 2016 - Here's a peek at some new artwork I've been working on. It took over four months to dry, and weighs as much as a fully-grown man. Currently taking requests for large commissioned pieces. Interested? Contact us for further information!

JANUARY 28th, 2016 - The brand new video we did for Draconian's "Stellar Tombs" is LIVE NOW, and is being premiere by Metal Hammer EU, Decibel Mag US, and Zero Tolerance UK. A brief introduction to this video.. I believe that our humanity was formed from two vital fundamentals: language and empathy. Language taught us how to speak, but empathy showed us how to listen. Cue humanity's natural propensity for chaos; our greatest and most radical accomplishments repeatedly leave us walking a knife's edge, pondering when the bigger fish will arrive and what form it will take this time around. When this is all over, will we become the dragonfly or the mammoth? Or will we get lucky and become hunters again, fighting for survival and asserting ourselves as Gods over Land and Nature, only to be overrun by wolves in the night? Jumping forward: a thousand years of civilization will rise and fall in an instant because of a single irrigation error. That, upon digging to the sea and proclaiming to the heavens, "We've done it!" immediately poisoned the rich soils with salt. We've come a long way since then, though! We split the atom, see? From all of us here at Don't Panic Films and Draconian, we sincerely hope you enjoy 'Stellar Tombs', and have as much fun watching it as we did making it - ENJOY!!

JANUARY 14th, 2016 - After the huge amount of talent we've lost this month, we weren't prepared for the passing of the legendary Alan Rickman.. Can't believe you're gone, bud.. Your unique voice and incredible talent will be so missed.

DECEMBER 31st, 2015 - 2016 is going to have to try REAL HARD to be better than this past year. We can't begin to recap everything that's happened, but let's just say that we're thankful for a whole lot.. We started writing this huge thing, but decided to keep it simple: we have so much love and respect for each and every one of you, and we really cannot stress that enough. Gleðilegt Nýtt Ár elsku vinir! Be safe tonight and have a wonderful evening.

DECEMBER 29th, 2015 - Who came first, Lemmy or God? This isn't a loss, it's the start of his legacy. RIP.

DECEMBER 16th, 2015 - Been pulling all-nighters left and right to finish this new Draconian music video before the end of the year, so I needed to take some time today to unwind a little bit. Went to the brand new Charles River Skatepark in Boston this afternoon, and after 15 years of waiting for this place to get built, I love everything about it. It's literally the perfect skatepark.

NOVEMBER 30th, 2015 - We are very upset to hear of the passing of musician and friend Damien DeRose; I met him when I was still in school, and this was one of the first music videos our crew ever did. It's all the more haunting, now. The Damien I got to know was extremely intelligent, quiet and kind, an old soul caught in a young body. I never knew the other side of him, the part that was battling the cunning disease of addiction. I'd like to say I'll only remember the first part, but I feel that would be a disservice to his struggle. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

NOVEMBER 29th, 2015 - Dinner in Vík í Mýrdal with Draconian and John Malcovich.

NOVEMBER 26th, 2015 - Bowen Staines has been working VERY hard on his upcoming skate edit. "We had a couple days off after filming the new music video for Draconian's "Stellar Tombs", so I brought the band further up the coast so they could check out Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. We had to drive our Rover all the way back to Reykjavík later the same night, so I took advantage of the unusual circumstances, and logged some footage right as the sun was going down. Taildrop off our Dolly Table a few days back, Southeast Iceland." It'll be, at the very least, another year or two before the new edit is done, but we are very, VERY happy with it so far. Skate or Die.

NOVEMBER 25th, 2015 - Official photo album from this year's Iceland Airwaves Music Festival, taken by Bowen Staines at Don't Panic Films.

SEPTEMBER 4th, 2015 - We did the thing!

AUGUST 5th, 2015 - Some humorous thoughts on growing older, and the necessity of doing what you love.

AUGUST 3rd, 2015 - Welcome to French Canada! Would you like a mustache?! I'm so excited I got to skate Montreal's legendary "Big-O" today. Built for the 1976 Summer Olympics, this tunnel was originally used for the passage of athletes, and has now become one of the most prestigious structures in skateboarding. Got about as high as I could get on this wallride without bashing my head into the ceiling, just before some heavy thunder clouds rolled in.

JUNE 25th, 2015 - Day 2 of Survival Systems; we experienced what it feels like to extinguish the flames of a mangled, burning helicopter fuselage and rescue a passenger trapped inside, as well as how to survive and be recovered when stranded/lost at sea.

JUNE 22nd, 2015 - Today, we're in Halifax, Nova Scotia doing survival training! In Day 1 of Survival Systems, we experienced what it feels like to crash a helicopter upside-down and have it rapidly sink into the ocean, in the middle of a storm, in the dark.

MAY 17th, 2015 - We recently caught up with Wim Van Hooste at ROK/Icelandic Music Review, to discuss everything from upcoming projects and what first brought us to Iceland, to the evolution of music video editing and where the name "Don't Panic" came from (it's not a Hitchhikers Guide reference). Check it out!

MAY 16th, 2015 - Our good friends at Stuck in Iceland just did a great article about the release of the new Valdimar video today, as well as some back-story behind the production, and tons of photos from the set. You can watch the video there, too. Check it out!

MAY 15th, 2015 - We are very pleased to bring you the video for 'Út úr þögninni', by Iceland's powerful electro-indie sextet, Valdimar. This is a video about honesty, and what it means to be fearless. Thank you to the wonderful guys in the band, to our cast and crew, and to Margrét Björns and Kristinn Sævar Thorarensen, without whom this video could not have happened. Much love to you all, and please enjoy the video!

MARCH 10th, 2015 - Reykjavík looks like a scene out of that game, 'The Last of Us', right now. You've never experienced snow until you've lived through an Icelandic winter.

MARCH 2nd, 2015 - Take a look behind the scenes of the upcoming Valdimar music video, 'Út úr þögninni'. These pictures are from our shoot yesterday at Dyrhólaey, on Iceland's south coast. Photos by Birta Rán Björgvinsdóttir.

FEBRUARY 6th, 2015 - We are extremely honored to have just won Best Music Video at the Hlustendaverðlaunin 2015 (Listener's Choice Awards) a few minutes ago! This will be our third win in three years straight! Huge congrats to the great guys in Sólstafir, to Gunnar B. Guðbjörnsson, and to all the wonderful people that lent their time and hard work to making 'Lágnætti' possible. Much love!!

JANUARY 1st, 2015 - Our new video for Sólstafir's 'Lágnætti' is up for Music Video of The Year! We are extremely grateful and excited to be sharing the category with Agent Fresco and GusGus, among others. Take a moment and vote for your favorites here, and please share the link so others may vote too - it would mean the world to us, and to all those who've been nominated! All the best, and have a VERY Happy New Year!!

DECEMBER 25th, 2014 - From all of us at Don't Panic Films, we wish you a very Happy Holiday! If you need any more help getting in the mood, check out this creative holiday spoof of our Fjara video that was done by some of our wonderful friends!

NOVEMBER 25, 2014 - Skating Sólheimajökull in South Iceland, with Ryan Ross behind the lens. Ryan and I have been working on a double skate part over the last few years, about the two of us riding (or attempting to ride) unusual or unreal obstacles; this project will eventually take us from glaciers and the fuselage of a crashed plane, to the radioactive apartment blocks of Chernobyl. It will be a while before this video is done, but it should be worth the wait.

NOVEMBER 19th, 2014 - Iceland Airwaves 2014 was definitely a standout year for us; this was our ninth time attending Airwaves, and there hasn't been such a memorable festival since maybe 2009. The energy was as incredible and varied as the lineup, which made the impending week of morning tinnitus and bodily destruction seem oddly welcome. It's only been a week since the festival ended, but we're more than ready to do it all again. Check out the full album of Airwaves photography here!

NOVEMBER 18th, 2014 - Some of our Iceland Airwaves photography was featured in both the morning newspaper MBL.is, and the cultural blog Stuck In Iceland. Check it out!

NOVEMBER 2nd, 2014 - The new SÓLSTAFIR video, 'Lágnætti', was released last month to an unbelievably positive response, and now it's time to see exactly what went into making this 9-minute music video in just two days. Check out this full album of behind-the-scenes photographs, featuring comprehensive explanations of the video, discussions on several of its themes, and dozens of stories from the set. Featuring photography by Bowen Staines, Julia Lallemand, and members of Sólstafir.

OCTOBER 23rd, 2014 - We just released a short parody of Agent Fresco's brilliant 'Dark Water' video, which they released earlier this Summer. Entitled 'Dirt Water', we shot this parody in the Westfjörds of Iceland, without any of the guys knowing! Check it out here, and don't miss Agent Fresco at this year's Iceland Airwaves Music Festival!

OCTOBER 20th, 2014 - A cool article and short interview about the making of Sólstafir's 'Lágnætti' video is featured on MBL.is today! Several new pictures, as well - check it!

OCTOBER 7th, 2014 - We are very pleased to announce the release of our new video for Iceland's kings of psychedelic metal, Sólstafir! The video was shot over the course of two twenty-hour days, in the Westfjörds of Iceland. Check it out, and please share! Many thanks and much love!!

JULY 27th, 2014 - We officially have Picture Lock on the new Sólstafir video. We rented an entire fjord near the town of Hólmavík in the Icelandic Westfjörds, and shot the entire video over the course of two exhausting twenty-hour days. We are extremely happy with how the video is coming together, and you won't have to wait very long to see it! The whole thing will be released in just a few short weeks. Check out some behind-the-scenes photos HERE: I'm pretty sure this is the most beautiful place I've ever transferred an SD card...

JULY 25th, 2014 - Shooting began today for the new Sólstafir music video! Here's a sneak peek at a few of the locations, located in Iceland's Westfjörds.

JULY 13th, 2014 - Left Costa Rica today, and flew 16 hours to Paris, France. Our crew was insanely jetlagged, but still found the energy to film a short skate edit on the streets near the Bastille. Check it out HERE!

JULY 6th, 2014 - Made friends with a wild parrot while on set, who would frequently swoop down and join us for hours at a time.

JULY 5th, 2014 - In Costa Rica filming a commercial for a French cosmetics company. After an earthquake strong enough to knock the TV in my hotel room off the table, I decided it would be a smart idea to hike up the largest active volcano in the country, Arenal. I got extremely sunburned, and saw a snake larger than I felt comfortable seeing.

JULY 1st, 2014 - I've been working on this song "Ghosts of The Radio" since roughly the beginning of March. Although the melody is upbeat and poppy, the message is slightly more bitter and worrisome. Somewhat of a comment on certain aspects of the modern music industry, the song considers themes of mortality, anxiety, claustrophobia, urgency, and nostalgia. I recorded the whole thing live in our spare bedroom with a mess of different software and odd devices, ranging from an iPhone 5 to a 1st gen BOSS BR-8 analog studio, and mastered/mixed it entirely in Final Cut Pro. Listen to "Ghosts of The Radio" HERE!

JUNE 30th, 2014 - If there ever were a beautiful, historic, unique, and truly terrifying spot, it'd be the Auburn fullpipe. Located at the bottom of a 100-foot storm drain, the Auburn pipe has hosted countless memorable sessions over its half-century run. Now, it sits here with the bottom rotting out of it, nearly forgotten. Check out this very short teaser I threw together yesterday of some of the footage from our session on Saturday. We'll be working on a more comprehensive, full-length clip this month, so keep checking back! Featuring brand new music by SÓLSTAFIR.

APRIL 24th, 2014 - We just finished a new teaser trailer for the brilliant Icelandic math rockers, Agent Fresco. They've got a brand new single coming out soon called "Dark Water", and it's pretty darn nifty. Watch the trailer HERE!

APRIL 24th, 2014 - We've recently begun work on filming segments for a huge and exciting new television series. That's all we'll say for now... but you can check out a sneak peek HERE, and be sure to keep checking back for more info over the next few months...

APRIL 21st, 2014 - Iceland Cinema Now just featured our new film workshop in a recent article of theirs. Our July workshop is slowly beginning to fill up, but there are still spots available; if you or someone you know is interested in taking part in an unusual, unique, and VERY visual cinematography workshop in the Icelandic wilderness, there is truly no better time to see Iceland than in July! If you're interested, please feel free to message us with any questions you have! View the article HERE.

APRIL 1st, 2014 - Our video for Skálmöld's "Gleipnir" just won Music Video of the Year. We are all unbelievably grateful to the folks who lent huge amounts of time and energy to make this production happen, to the great guys in the band and our actors, and to all of you for your support. We are very, very thankful, and definitely don't take this for granted. Watch "Gleipnir" HERE!

MARCH 28th, 2014 - We have been working on a lot of new music recently, gradually amassing new material for a full-length album. This new track is a demo called "Wicked Skin", an experimental hybrid of 80's lo-fi synth-pop, and traditional mountain folk rock. It's an unpleasant story of addiction, and the many forms it can take. Listen to "Wicked Skin" HERE!

FEBRUARY 17th, 2014 - We are very excited to announce our new partnership with Labrador Iceland, where we're now offering customizable, week-long photo & video workshops in the heart of the Icelandic nature. Labrador is your personal gateway to capturing Iceland in all of its haunting, natural beauty, so CLICK HERE to learn more, and HERE to see our workshops in action!

AUGUST 19th, 2013 - Did you hear?! Our feature-length documentary, "WHERE'S THE SNOW?", about the Iceland Airwaves music festival, is now available on iTunes! Please check it out, and help spread the word about Iceland Airwaves, and the importance of Reykjavík's music scene. Watch the trailer HERE!

JULY 7th, 2013 - The Auburn full pipe is a well-kept secret amongst east coast skateboarders, and has been the host to many memorable sessions since the 1970's. It's basically a gigantic storm drain, and it's so steep that you have to repel into it - the bottom leaks badly and is full of turtles, and coyotes have been regularly know to walk right through the middle of your session. Needless to say, we needed to check it out!

MAY 15th, 2013 - We just finished a brand new video for the wonderful gentlemen in Agent Fresco, where they discuss their past, present, and future. With footage spanning their entire career, it is truly special to look back at all these moments gathered over the last six years. Check it out, share, and help spread their music!

APRIL 22nd, 2013 - The Vintage Caravan music video for "Expand Your Mind" is completed, and we're all pretty darn happy with it. Details regarding the premiere in Reykjavík will be verified within the next day or so, with an online release soon after. Stay tuned!

APRIL 2nd, 2013 - Things have been a little quiet over here the last few weeks, but that's only because we've been putting the finishing touches on a brand new music video! The Vintage Caravan video is looking pretty nifty, so get ready for it soon!

MARCH 9th, 2013 - Back to Reykjavík still in one piece after eight days on the road with Skálmöld. Here, we're meeting up with the lovely gentlemen in Agent Fresco to film a video for their new EPK. Get ready to see a lot more of these guys in the future!

MARCH 8th, 2013 - Tonight on the Skálmöld tour, we'll be playing at Litla Hraun ("Little Lava"), Iceland's maximum security prison, Folsom Prison-style! You can view the Vísir article from the show HERE, and a video from the nightly news HERE!

MARCH 6th, 2013 - Passing through Dimmu Borgir, en route to Eskifjörður tonight. Between two buses, we've gone through (not on purpose) two transmissions, one starter, one shifter knob, the passenger-side glovebox, and both the back doors don't open anymore.

MARCH 5th, 2013 - While driving through completely white-out conditions en route to Höfn, we nearly power-slid our tour bus into a heard of 25-30 reindeer. I've never seen a reindeer before, and I'm greatly relieved I'm not responsible for accidentally murdering any.

MARCH 4th, 2013 - In Skálmöld's hometown of Húsavík, in the northeast of Iceland. As you can see, we've getting some pretty intense weather the last few days. If you don't speak Icelandic, the name of the tour translates to "Darkness, Cold, Ice, and Snow". Believe us, the irony isn't lost on us.

MARCH 3rd, 2013 - In Akureyri in the north of Iceland, doing some filming underneath a hidden waterfall for Skálmöld's 'Gleipnir' video.

MARCH 2nd, 2013 - The Skálmöld tour got off to a great start this morning...

FEBRUARY 10th, 2013 - Icelandic Norse-metal band, Skálmöld, performs their latest album, 'Börn Loka', in its entirety, for a sold-out and very appreciative crowd. Projected behind the band are a series of videos chronicling the tragic story of siblings, Hilmar and Brynhildur, and their fall from Óðinn's grace at the hands of Loki's four horrible children. The performance has received rave reviews, and has been repeatedly heralded as one of the best album release concerts in recent memory. Check out the full photo album HERE!
